Malcolm Hughes Land Surveyors have been undertaking works at a cemetery in Inverclyde in an attempt to identify buried grave stones and individual grave plots using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR).

Our surveyors used a dual frequency GPR system to undertake the survey which on its own gives excellent detection capabilities. The scans were conducted on a geo-referenced orthogonal grid system at 0.5m centres which combined with the radar’s small size, manoeuvrability and limited off-road capability gave the optimal site coverage and reliable positioning data that the client was looking for.

All data captured was subject to our own in-house data post processing which uses cutting edge software to produce a detailed 3D model of the subsurface from which the team were able to supply the information required.
